Mike Ashley: "Champions Cup next season for Newcastle United"

Mike Ashley is ready to splash £30M out of his pocket for Sam Allardyce to get the best players in for Toon in order to get Newcastle United back to the European Champions League next season.

Meanwhile, Sam Allardyce has told the press that the re-building of Newcastle United is needed more time, and he wants another one season to fulfill Ashley’s ambition for a Champions League. It’s in fact the real ambition IMHO but as a loyal Toon Fan, I also wanted a better league position for Newcastle at the end of 2007-2008 season, whether that was a top four which means a Champions League place or else, top 5 for a UEFA Cup ticket.

As the wisemen said, you can’t buy success, but you can try to get it. Magpies zone wants a reasonable league position for Newcastle, at least UEFA Cup place next season.

Sam has added that we've got to really try to not focus on that. We shouldn’t start the season and say we are going to try to win the Carling Cup or the FA Cup, but trying to win the first three games for Newcastle, and if we can reach that, the other target is try to win every other games we had. Results will come if we can do that in the right way.

Well, nice point Sam. Today is the anouncement of the 2007-2008 fixtures by the PFA. We shall see who is our first three games opponent are, and if we have to face EPL Big Names, then I think Sam would work his very best to get his ambition to win all first three games for Newcastle, and makes us very proud of him :)
