Spanish radio said today, Newcastle United is the latest club who is linked with Baptista, while Sven Goran Eriksson and Martin O’ Neill are also interested to bring the Brazilian powerhouse back to the Premiership.

Dubbed as ‘The Beast’ by the Sevilla supporters, the 26-year-old Julio Baptista is known for his bewildered style with deft ball skills, muscular and more direct approach to the game.

Began his professional career in 2000 as a defensive midfielder with São Paulo F.C. Julio Cesar Baptista being transfered on August 6, 2003 to Sevilla FC in a fee of just £1.75 million, now he is rated at £8m and currently playing with the Spanish giant Real Madrid.

Julio was first being linked to have reunion with his former Sevilla manager, now in Tottenham Juande Ramos, with a £5m swoop last November. Meanwhile, Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster, is likely to hold the Brazilian international and Julio has told the Spanish media last week that he wants to stay because he feels appreciated in Madrid.

Other speculation come from the Daily Mirror who says Keegan is ready to bid £7m for West Ham’s Dean Ashton, Liverpool defender John Arne Riise with a £6.5m offer and also Chelsea’s left-back Wayne Bridge.
