The news today suggest that Sam Allardyce has sent his scouts to watch the 24-year-old Paraguayan’s Oscar Cardozo on two occasions, and has received some favourable assessments.
The former Club Nacional striker is a prolific goalscorer, averaging a goal every two games throughout his career. He is recently struck in Benfica’s Champions League victory against Glasgow Celtic.
His agent, Pedro Aldave said that he is not surprise by the interest from Newcastle and maybe some other clubs for Benfica’s ace. The club knows that they have a big player on their hands and could give them some real money.
