If Sam Allardyce chose to go to Anfield rather than watching the Blackburn side being thrashed out by Aston Villa 4-0 at Ewood Park last night shows that, he is very much concerned with the future.

His new team of scouts spread across the Continent last night. UK and Europe coordinator Paul Montgomery being spotted at Parkhead for scouting the Ukrainian players.

Although Chris Mort has launch a statement that there will be no money to spend in January, but Allardyce situation is yet to sit down with United chairman for discussions.

Therefore, Allardyce send his scouts working 24/7 so everything is in place if, at the time money is released for him in the January transfer window.

At Anfield, Big Sam keen to watch his target, Porto’s 26-year-old centre-half Bruno Alves, who was handed his first senior cap in Portugal’s game against Kuwait in June.

Earlier today, Sam told the Sun newspaper that his position is safe if he can get results but not if he lose (Blackburn) matches. He also insists there were no different anywhere else.

“I would not have lasted eight years at Bolton if I did not get results. I believe there will be no knee-jerk reaction from my bosses. They are very stable and supportive and I hope that remains the case.” Said Allardyce.

Meanwhile, if you are still ‘interested’ on Michael Owen situation, he is now back from Germany, and is set to step up his return to fitness over the next fortnight. He has the Birmingham game at St James’s Park as the game when he make another return for Newcastle United.

“Michael’s back from Germany and coming forward a lot quicker than we thought,” said Allardyce. “And we’ll hopefully have him back well before Christmas.”
