After being critized back for his critism about Newcastle United supporters, Joey Barton has attempted to smooth things over with the St James’s Park faithful today ahead of the Premier League encounter with leaders Arsenal tonight. He is saying that he does not meaning to question the fans’ loyalty.
“When I spoke about the atmosphere at our last home game against Liverpool, the point I was making was that, through results good or bad, we all need to stick together on and off the pitch,” Joey said. “So it is clear everyone needs time to come together and move the club on and that will happen much, much quicker if everyone is pulling together.”
“In fact, I actually made the point that it is up to the players to lift the fans when results are not going our way. What I said was intended to be a rallying call after a defeat. It was not a blast or an attack.”
Well, Joey you have our forgiveness and now it’s your turn to show us what you can do best tonight. We always watching and paying the highest repect for our good players, make us sing “There’s Only One Joey, Joey, Joey Barton!” show us the good side of you in football field.
Meanwhile, Kevin Keegan today said that maybe Joey didn’t mean to say the Newcastle fans are ‘Vicious’. Keegan’s thought he was actually want to say ‘Frustrated’ which is more appropriate.
“They are not vicious. That’s the wrong word. I don’t think Joey Barton meant vicious. Frustrated would be a better word.” Said Keegan.
