This would be sounds classic, and probably also applied to most of any football club supporters everywhere. What so called football supporters are often divided into two major sides, one with more reasonable thoughts of what happen to their club, while on the other side there are supporters who see things the way they wanted it to be.

Toon Army start waving now for a new way to get better [Magpies Zone]

I have been looking around for a while since the first news about Joey Barton’s putting on a free transfer list to see if it’s actually genuine or just temporary fogged of reality in the world of football.

Now I see it as real and in between those days of “time and space” I have read many different thoughts about why this (always) happen recently to United players, or to borrow their words, United key players.

First we lost Andy Carrol, followed by Kevin Nolan, Jose Enrique and the latest one Joey Barton move to Queens Park Rangers, a newly come back team to the top flight after many years.

Quoted from his tweet, @Joey7Barton Joseph Barton – “I will always have a special relationship with the Geordie nation but sadly they are not the decision makers at St James’ Park.” and “I wish to thank each and everyone of them sincerely for their support.”

Now the question is if we (the Geordie nation) are the decision makers at St. James’ Park then to whom we will be throwing all the knives at when this club not performing so well under fans control? I personally would like to still have the boards and directors at the club, so we still have someone to blame.

The point is, it’s the time we grown up as a fan and try to add some balance of thought while making any statement about Newcastle United and the people who runs the club. Success cannot be reach instantly, we have tried that for many-many years without success and now let’s face it and accept the new way of building this team.

I once admire Joey Barton and has defend him against any false critism about him when he’s in such a miserable days couple years ago. He’s still a player that I adore and give my highest respects to, until today.

Joey Barton at full-time Premier League match against Sunderland [Magpies Zone/GettyImages/DayLife]

When everyone who may wanted him out and said he was a totally disgrace to United’s team back on that day, I have written here that Joey is a big player with his own style and the way he express his attitude is something that rare to find in any football player.

And when he took “time and space” on his possible move to QPR in a few days, Newcastle looks fragile and were deservedly falling behind at Glanford Park last night.

Pardew makes six changes from the side that won at Sunderland last Saturday for the second round of Carling Cup against the Irons. Without Tiote and Barton in our central midfield, we’re canny lookalike a team from the same division as Scunthorpe.

The home team took the lead in just 15 minutes into first-half courtesy of their number 9 Chris Dagnall, before Ryan Taylor – for the second time in a row – rescued the day for the traveller Toon Army with his 80th-minute free-kick. Sammy Ameobi wrapped-up the contest in 112 minutes of extra time.

Things look a little worrying me about the future of Newcastle United side regarding to Joey’s proposed move to QPR. Although Yohan Cabaye perform exciting in central midfield, I believe he still needs more time and space before he can reach Joey’s standard in the top-flight division.

But as the title of this article, I believe Newcastle United has plenty of time and space to build the all new, fresh and strongest team. Players may come and go, things certainly change but not my loyalty and support for the whole team.

Until then, and thanks for coming to this site. Howay the Lads!

Not a great game, to put it mildly, but I’m happy with the point and reasonably satisfied with the performance. The fact neither keeper had to make a real save put the quality of the game into perspective, but we grafted hard to close them down and the spirit looked ok, which had been my major pe-match concern.

Yohan Cabaye (R) challenge Arsenal's Andrei Arshavin [Magpies Zone/Reuters Pict/DayLife]

Tiote and Cabaye struggled to get any kind of hold in midfield, but I think was largely down to Arsenal playing three in there against our two. Cabaye struggled to get the pace of the game, but hopefully that will come with matchs.

He looked physically exhausted well before he was finally subbed. Tiote had an in & out game, winning his fair share of tackles, picking up a ritually stupid booking, but his passing was too often off target. He was not the only one guilty of that, and perhaps surprisingly Barton was also frequently at fault. The latters dead ball kicks were atrocious.

We did ok defensively, although Ryan Taylor got caught on the wrong side of his opponent too many times for comfort – otherwise he didn’t do too badly at LB.

Up front, Ba and Shola battled gamely and worked hard, but got little in the way of service. I just can’t see these two forming a good pairing. They are similar in style, and frankly Shola is physically stronger.

Joey Barton is pulled away from Arsenal's Gervinho [Magpies Zone/AP Photo/DayLife]

I don’t know what to make of the scuffle towards the end. Gervinho’s dive in the penalty certainly looked outrageous from where I was, and deserving of a card – for bad acting, if nothing else – but I don’t think JB should have got involved. He never seems to learn.

No real surprises overall I guess, and I saw nothing to change my view that with the current personnel we will struggle to score goals. Without HBA we badly lack creativity. That problem will be exacerbated further if we lose Barton. However, if we can get in a top class defender to play LB, and are able to keep things tight defensively, we should have enough in midfield to pick up the required number of points – although it ain’t gonna be pretty!

Newcastle has done a fantastic job to ensure that there would be no repeat of a relegation from two seasons ago, and they are essentially safe as they sit on 41 points with three games left, six points above the relegation zone.

Newcastle United looking ahead a double against Birmingham City

But still, the Magpies would love to snap a four-game winless streak this weekend at home as they host Birmingham, who is looking to move further away from the relegation zone as well ; bookmakers promotions such as Ladbrokes’ allow to place bet on nice odds about that.

Newcastle has a pair of draws and two losses since a 4-1 win at home over Wolves on April 2nd, and they were spanked 3-0 at Liverpool, where they came face to face with striker Andy Carroll, who they sold to Liverpool for a club-record for $57.7 million at the transfer deadline.

They could have used Carroll to boost their faith among those who bet on sports right now, because they’re struggling to find the back of the net, scoring a single goal during this four-game winless skid. Now that Carroll is on Merseyside, Newcastle’s leading scoring is captain Kevin Nolan, who has 12 goals in 30 games from midfield, followed by forward Shola Ameobi, who has eight goals in 20 games, and then Leon Best, who has six goals in 10 games, but he’s gone for the rest of the year with an ankle/foot injury. Then you have another midfielder, Joey Barton, with five goals and a team-leading eight assists in 30 games, and you have what should be Newcastle’s main goal of the offseason.

Leon Best scoring but now gone for the rest of the year

The Magpies need to go out and find a goal-scorer to replace Carroll (who had 11 goals in 18 games), because you’re not going to be very successful when your main goal threats are your midfielders.

Nolan and Barton are great at supporting strikers from midfield, but they’re still not of the quality of a Frank Lampard, for example. This week’s forward pairing should continue to be Ameobi and Peter Lovenkrandis, which is fine against the likes of Birmingham, and Newcastle has a home game against West Brom to finish the season, so they should escape the season unscathed, but they need to find a striker in the offseason.

With the news that captain Kevin Nolan is set to sign a new deal at Newcastle, manager Alan Pardew will be hoping other star players put pen-to-paper as he looks to rebuild his squad for the 2011/12 campaign.

Kevin Nolan is set to sign a new deal at Newcastle

Football betting pundits note how midfielder Joey Barton and defender Jose Enrique are both out of contract in the summer with a whole host of clubs chasing their signatures following impressive performances in the top flight.

Barton, who originally said he would sign a new deal if Nolan did, should keep to his word and renew his contract in the summer while Enrique’s future remains in doubt as he continues to be strongly linked with a move to Liverpool.

The Spanish defender played a major role in his side’s promotion back to the Premier League and has continued to excel this season as Newcastle cemented their top-flight status.

Barton and Nolan have formed a formidable partnership with an energetic and aggressive approach that has given Pardew’s side steel and determination in the midfield region.

Joe Barton said he would sign a new deal if Nolan did

Pardew not only needs his current players to pledge their future’s to the club but he also has a huge task in the summer to try and attract players to St James Park with the money raised from Andy Carroll’s £35 million move to Liverpool.

His number one priority has to be signing a striker following this season’s lack of activity in front of goal. After Carroll’s departure to Anfield and Shola Ameobi’s facial injury, the Toon Army’s striking options were limited with Pardew having only youngster Nile Ranger, untried Leon Best, out-of-position Peter Lovenkrands and veteran Shefki Kuqi, who signed until the end of the season, at his disposal.

Newcastle’s strike force lacked fire power and a striker who could find the net on a regular basis which ended any hope of progression into the Europa League places this season. They relied too heavily on the contribution of Nolan, who is the club’s leading scorer with 12 and when he was absent, it showed.

Alan Pardew can tie Barton and Enrique down to new deals?

It is unknown how much of the £35 million raised from Carroll’s sale Pardew will get to spend, but it is needed to be spent wisely if Newcastle are to emulate this season. Those looking to win football bets will agree that a couple of strikers, a winger, a central midfielder and a defender would see Pardew’s squad improve drastically.

If Pardew can tie Barton and Enrique down to new deals and bring in some quality new additions, Newcastle will have a decent squad to make an assault on the Europa League places.
