Newcastle’s back-to-back wins and third successive league victory at White Hart Lane coming from a thrilling counter-attacking force as we’re chasing from a goal down in the first half to seal the victory in the last minutes of injury time.
“It’s answered the critics we have had over last four weeks and it was a great performance in the second half and a great result.” Steve McClaren said on the BBC site,
“That is what we are, a bedrock of discipline and hard work. We have talented players, and they know how to win, we just have to do it consistently.”
Just before this game, United was in the bottom three and while under severe pressure McClaren knew that he had to turn it around to lift Newcastle out into 15th place, one place ahead of champions Chelsea who will face Leicester City on Monday.
Newcastle have won all of our last three league visits to White Hart Lane, and now it’s Aston Villa on Saturday in a game which McClaren see to consolidate United’s Premier League position before Christmas.
