Recently, Newcastle United under Chris Hughton’s era, has shown interesting good policy to be purchasing only younger talent with good potential and not looking for the bigger names.
The likes of Mike Williamson, Wayne Routlede, Danny Simpson and the Ivory Coast midfielder Cheik Ismael Tioté are some of the United new faces and they are proven to be usefull additions for the Toon.
And to continue with their signing policy, the latest rumour for United new signing on January next year is 23 year-old Belgian winger Jonathan Legear who is currently playing for Anderlecht, and has made 99 appearances in the Belgian Jupiler League so far.
Jonathan Legear is one of several players that are being monitored by Newcastle. Since the arrival of Graham Carr as the new chief scout for United on February this year, United has expanded scouting network to include the Dutch and Belgian leagues.
Although Everton was also being reported to have the same interest in Legear’s service, the player himself has admit the Newcastle scouting team has made one step ahead of their rival by contacting his agent to express an interest in signing him.
Legear can play in both flanks, but he’s primarily a right-attacking winger – which I believe the position where we were struggling until Chris Hughton has decide to play Joey Barton on the flank. Our current midfield squad was still thin and we need more additional players to cover this area, beside our striking force.
Meanwhile, one of our class of 90’s squad John Beresford has made an interesting quote in the Evening Chronicle’s article couple days ago.
Bez said that the current crop of Newcastle United players can emulate the famous Entertainers team of the 1990’s and become Newcastle United modern heroes. I also hope that they will, if the lads can keep their performance like the crushing 5-1 win over Sunderland on last Sunday.
Until next time, and thanks for your visit to this site. Howay the Lads!!!
