On Today’s Rumours – Believe it or Not

Yes, you can take it as a serious stuff or just the media rumours. But, this is could be true as the official site is also reporting that Newcastle United is on the verge to help the career of 29 years-old Argentinian striker Juan Roman Riquelme.

Riquelme was not featured for Spanish club Villarreal this season after having fallen out with management during the summer. The Daily Telegraph reports that Sam Allardyce could be set to table an £8m bid for the playmaker, with Atletico Madrid and Brazilian side Fluminense also keeping tabs on the situation.

Riquelme now playing with Boca Juniors on loan status. With Boca he has scores 10 goals from his 24 appearances. In order to make this happens, once again Big Sam have to offload one of Newcastle current player, with The Journal says that Shola Ameobi could be the subject of a January approach from Bolton Wanderers.

Born in San Fernando, Buenos Aires Province, and grew up in Don Torcuato. Argentine clubs Boca Juniors and River Plate spotted him when he was a youth player for Argentinos Juniors, but he chose to move to Boca in 1995 as he had grown up supporting them.

On October 14, 2007 Riquelme emerged from three months of inactivity at Villarreal to score two free kicks in a 2-0 win against Chile to get his Argentine team off to a winning start in their 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Whether this latest rumour is true or not, the answer will have to wait until January.
