]]>AC Milan was the first team that I adore during my teenage years, back in time where players like Ruud Gullit (who’s later become one of Newcastle’s manager), Marco Van Basten, Frank Rijkaard, Franco Baresi, Costacurta, Daniel Massaro, Roberto Mussi, Albertini and others from the class of 1988 are all my heroes.
For the next 5 years I was supporting them until suddenly life changed experience showing before my eyes, the Black-N-White team who plays with an entertaining style was shown in our local television network, I was stunned, speechless and a love at first sight has dragged me from San Siro to St. James’ Park.
I can’t remember precisely what Newcastle game it was, but the bright side was those in Black-N-White stripes, and their name was still printed very well on my mind, Peter Beardsley and Andy Cole. The other lads who I still remember was Robert Lee and Darren Peacock with his ponytail trademark.

And since that moment without any doubt at all, I was a passionate die hard Toon Army.
Just like Steve Harper, this year was the mark of 20 years long of my journey with the Magpies. I have seen many players or managers come and go, the joy of excitement and tears in my eyes but the passion was never let go, it’s still bold as just like many of others Toon Army worldwide.
The question now is for the current owner of the club, I wonder if he has even just a grain of sand of passion for this club as we the fans had. But there’s still hope that (someday) we will be great again, just like we were back in 1993.

]]>For me it is very interesting to see who will be Hughton’s right-hand, and some news have been reporting that he already have some names on his pocket as Calderwood’s replacement.
As the most loyalest football supporters the world ever had, I want you to tell me who will be the perfect man for this job and why you think it was he was right one.
I will make my suggestion first. In my opinion, the man who is perfect for this job is Peter Beardsley. Pedro has done a very good job with our reverse team who is currently sit on top of Premier League Section A, after a 4-1 win over Bolton Wanderers second string.
From the Journal report, Hughton already has a meeting with Newcastle United managing director Derek Llambias yesterday which I think one of the agenda was to discuss about the replacement, and hopefully another possible new signings in January.
Hughton said, as quoted from the Journal: “It will 100% be my decision because it has to be. He is going to be my assistant so it is important I know I can work with that person.”
With more than a decade of experience as an assistant manager at Tottenham Hotspur and also with the Toon, Hughton knows better what the job entails, someone he can trust, good coaching ability and can deal with the players.
Also from the Journal, former United number two Steve Clarke, Steve Stone, Clive Allen (who played with Hughton at Tottenham) and … former United legend Peter Beardsley, are some possible candidates. Now, what about you? Post your comment with your own favorite as Hughton assistant.
Until next time and thanks for coming to this site. Howay the Lads!!!

]]>It was fascinating to hear what he had to say since he’s been a club insider so I’ll brielfy list what I can remember.
One interesting note from his speech was He doesn’t think Freddy Shepherd was all that bad. He says he made mistakes when appointed managers. Big mistakes. But it was then the managers in question that wasted his money. Money was always porvided.
Pedro also extremely critical of Allardyce and Sounness who just think they can shout their way to the top. Said there’s no way he would have responded to their team talks had he played under them.
When asking which of Allardyce’s signings was the best, the answer is Habib Beye. About the other signings He commented that Enrique is slow but is starting to impress him, he also doesn’t think Alan Smith is as bad as everyone thinks he is.
About Nicky Butt, he is past it (despite his goal) in terms of getting forward. We could keep him to play a holding role as long as he knows he musn’t get forward! Meanwhile, Damien Duff is rubbish, his first touch is always backwards and about Steven Taylor, Beardsley think he is not as good as he thinks he is. Basically called him a big head. Doesn’t think Keegan will keep him this summer!
More about our current players. He doesn’t rate Milner as high rated player, but thinks that Milner is a no end product. The fact that we don’t need him has been proven by the results since his absence! He also doesn’t support what Barton has done off the pitch but thinks he looked great vs Tottenham and has progressed a lot under Keegan.
When I asked him towards the end whether or not he thought Shearer would make a good manager. I got a very reserved response. He’s not sure he will ever be manager of NUFC. Doesn’t think Ashley will give it to him with no experience. Then he started questioning where else he could go. Big four clubs would never take him and Beardsley doesn’t understand why has he turned down whatever Keegan offered him? Cushy TV job?
Couple more things, Beardsley make rediction for Reading. Jokingly said 4-3. Pointed out that they never go away and look for a point. He’d be amazed if they don’t play 4-4-2 and really have a go at us. (Which he admires them for)
One other person asked him if he’d ever consider a management job at any club. He said NO on the basis that with the kids, they’re just interested in playing football. All they want to do is make the first team. Whereas he can’t stand the fact that there are players who are only motivated by money. He said when he played it wasn’t like this. From what he said I assumed he was still working with the kids but I’m not certain.
