After the first statement from the official site yesterday, they have made another one today saying that Newcastle United Football Club can confirm that discussions are ongoing between the Board and Kevin Keegan.
Both the Club and Kevin would like to reiterate that Kevin remains as manager. He has not resigned nor has he been sacked, as has been confirmed in respective statements made by Kevin and Newcastle United Football Club.
But the King himself has no single words to counter or accept the club statement. Keegan still in silent mode, that force the club to spread their second statement because some of the press reports are still speculating that Keegan refused to stay if the club hierarchy not allow him to buy his own players.
Meanwhile, the only press site that has come up with a slight relieve news during the depressing hours yesterday, the Chronicle has reporting the Newcastle United Fanzine editor Mark Jensen believes that another Kevin Keegan departure will send shock waves around the football world.
“What seems to be unfolding is that when the deal was done Mike Ashley and Kevin Keegan put the deal down to a handshake with details to be agreed later.” Jensen told the Chronicle today
And further more news from the Chronicle ‘informan’ that close to the King has give information about Kevin still wants the job. Make no mistake about that. But he would like to be able to buy his own players.
Meanwhile, since the day Ashley took the club, he only spend just £11m to buy players, and saying he has buy NUFC with no intention to make money just want to be a fan and have some fun.
What fun it would be if the club where he is a ‘fan’ of will struggling year after year without any sufficient back-up to buy decent players? It’s hard to survive in the Premierships nowadays without spending heavily. Manchester City is the latest sample of how money can brought player like Robinho from Real Madrid!
If I was Mike Ashley and since his reputation now is very bad, I would sell this club to the Indian multi billionaire Anil Ambani and his Reliance group, who are still more than interested in buying out and ready to put a £275m offer on the table for Newcastle United.
