Should We Recall Andy Back?

Newcastle once again having a player crisis after Michael Owen is positive out for several weeks and Viduka is not coming on his best fitness yet. The back-up is in fact not as good as we have expected them to be.

Shola Ameobi has been on several news and media headlines these days after his two recent performances for Toon end-up in a club defeat. Against Derby County in Premier League and recently at Emirates Stadium in Carling Cup 3rd round match against Arsenal.

As ussual, the media has becoming so cruel against any player who has a bad day. For me, disappointing it is to see his performance, bu to show him an exit door is too early. He is actually a good player when he’s on his mood. This is actually the job for the coaching stuff to find a way to make him back on his best performance. Now back to the player crisis. We will have Manchester City game in few days. This is the one that we must not out from our grab. We must do all the very best for this game because it is so important to our the good track in Premierships table.

The Saturday game is our ticket to #4 spot on the table and just like the Hammers game, we will be heading out into a very tough game against the on-fly Manchester City.

Now, with Shola not back on his best yet, who will be the best one to play alongside Mark Viduka who is probably will coming back to his fitness on Saturday. Martins is the best one instead of Shola, so Allardyce probably will playing him.

In fact, we still have Alan Smith. The all-round versatile player can also play as a striker. This is something that we haven’t seen from him this season, and Big Sam should think of trying to add him up there.

So I think, it is not the best time yet to recall Andy Carroll from his loan spell. If we did that and the injured players coming back, that would be harsh for him to once again playing in reserve team.

Andy has a good run on his loan at Preston North End, and we will have the benefit from it later on when he is return to St. James’ Park as a fully ready to play status after gaining some real competitive matches.

Ready or not, we must have to fight like a hungry wolf on Saturday. I believe all the Lads are willing to die for the club, they are as hungry as we are for any success. Go and beat them Lads!
