Speculations about Shearer will come or not will never stop until the man himself said anything about it. This time Toon legend is in silent mode, just like Michael Owen when the heavy Southern media junkies are reporting about his contract at United last year.
Whether or not the Big Al will be United 7th manager in the last 10 years at St. James’ Park remains in the air, and will not helping the Toon development at all. Magpies Zone sources said that Shearer is actually not the right answer for United’s current condition.
I believe deep in his heart, he wants to take the job but keep in silent because he is not sure either that he has the ability to give exactly what some Toon Army put the expectations upon him.
Shearer knows for sure, that although he is born and breed Geordie, the Toon Ultras will not see that as a guarantee that he will not being put under pressure like they did to Sam Allardyce.
I have said several times on this blog, that Shearer is very welcome if he wants to step inside and help the Toon. He will fit on the role of Carlos Queiros at Old Trafford.
His passion will add the depth to Allardyce’s tactic and somewhere somehow, he can have one or two games in charge.
He already did that when Glenn Roeder take temporary charge of United team following Graeme Souness’ departure in February 2006. I believe he can do that once again for Sam Allardyce.
And when the time is right, and he already collected managerial experience, he can be United boss someday if Allardyce has to go.
