]]>In the effect of his transfer speculation to Arsenal, Cabaye was not taking part in Newcastle’s first two Premierleague match this season against Manchester City and West Ham as well as in the League Cup against Morecambe.
“I want to forget what happened during the summer, I want to put it behind me and give everything for Newcastle every day, for the club and for my team-mates.” he said,
“If the fans were – or still are – mad at me for what happened then I understand and I apologise to them.”
Coming on as a substitute against Fulham in the previous matchday, Cabaye regained his position back in Toon first team squad against Aston Villa last Saturday and quickly shown he’s still one of Newcastle United quality player.
We, the Toon Army accepted his apology and when he was substituted at Villa Park, the travelling Toon fans give him a fantastic ovation for his part in Newcastle first away win this season.

]]>Tiote and Cabaye struggled to get any kind of hold in midfield, but I think was largely down to Arsenal playing three in there against our two. Cabaye struggled to get the pace of the game, but hopefully that will come with matchs.
He looked physically exhausted well before he was finally subbed. Tiote had an in & out game, winning his fair share of tackles, picking up a ritually stupid booking, but his passing was too often off target. He was not the only one guilty of that, and perhaps surprisingly Barton was also frequently at fault. The latters dead ball kicks were atrocious.
We did ok defensively, although Ryan Taylor got caught on the wrong side of his opponent too many times for comfort – otherwise he didn’t do too badly at LB.
Up front, Ba and Shola battled gamely and worked hard, but got little in the way of service. I just can’t see these two forming a good pairing. They are similar in style, and frankly Shola is physically stronger.
I don’t know what to make of the scuffle towards the end. Gervinho’s dive in the penalty certainly looked outrageous from where I was, and deserving of a card – for bad acting, if nothing else – but I don’t think JB should have got involved. He never seems to learn.
No real surprises overall I guess, and I saw nothing to change my view that with the current personnel we will struggle to score goals. Without HBA we badly lack creativity. That problem will be exacerbated further if we lose Barton. However, if we can get in a top class defender to play LB, and are able to keep things tight defensively, we should have enough in midfield to pick up the required number of points – although it ain’t gonna be pretty!

]]>I was watching the game on live broadcasting, and yes it was really shocking to see how easy we let them scores 4 soft goals. We defend badly and keep losing position against the movements of Walcott and Van Persie.
At that moment of 4-0, I was thought that we will be humiliated very hard and they could go home with a sweet revenge to the 0-1 down on their own yard last year. But to be honest, I prefer the scoreline to stay that way.
You, if you’re also a toon fan, may asking why I prefer to lose?
The answer is simple, I didn’t want that fat Ashley to think and more certainly sure that Newcastle United can do good even with this small group of players, and it was not necessary to add new bullets next season. So he can wasted the money from Andy Carroll transfer in the casino.
I hope that I was wrong, and we will have some new additions to this squad in the summer. We have enough money to buy 3-4 decent players by that time and hopefully AP will also knows his targets and try all the best he can to get them.
By the way, I love to see Tiotte’s goal again and again and again … it was truly one of the world’s most fantastic goal
Until then and thanks for coming to this site. Howay the Lads!!!

]]>After a spirited comeback against Wigan at home, we’ve won 3 premiership games in a row. Simply fantastic. This run shows just how important a point like that at home can be, even though at the time we were questioning whether coming back at home vs Wigan to scrape a draw was something to celebrate.
What pleases me most is that I’ve just seen something I don’t recall seeing for all the time I’ve supported the toon. Newcastle United being 0-1 up against a good side away from home and looking comfortable, forget that, extremely comfortable precisely.
At 0-1 up away at Arsenal I expect it to be desperate. At times, I wondered why Carroll and Shola were just sauntering around upfront when Arsenal had the ball. Part of me wanted Carroll and Shola to be running around like headless chickens trying to pressure Arsenal when they had the ball in their own half.
But we refused to do so. The confidence in our performance was almost arrogant. Our whole performance at 0-1 up reaked of “Come on then… show us what you’ve got?”
We very calmly let them come forward and then dealt with whatever they came up with. The marking in midfield from Tiote and co was exceptional.
The calmness to our approach, for which CH deserves full credit, meant that when we won the ball back we had options and tried to play football. Arsenal had to foul us to get the ball back. Whilst we went forward a loss less times than they did in the second half, when we did we looked just as dangerous and just as likely to score.
One of the most pleasing performances I have ever witnessed.

]]>They are surely the bigger team in terms of their achievements in domestic league in the past couple years, and also have couple of Premier League titles written under their name, but today they are the loser against newly promoted but high quality team, Newcastle United.
I’m pretty sure that before the starting of the game, many of the Gunner fans are predicting another big win against us just like when they dumped us in Carling Cup 4th round, but they have to facing a humiliation by the “real” Newcastle team.
And if they said that we were lucky today, I agree. Football needs luck beside skill and determination which are the things that only can be seen in United team today, and that team was Newcastle United.
To be honest, during the game in almost 90 minutes, I keep holding my breath, my arms and feet turns cold and keep praying and praying for the eleven Newcastle players who fought like a wounded lion today.
I’m proud, really proud of them all. This is the best performance that I’ve watch this season so far. More satisfying than the 6-0 win against Aston Villa, and even emulate the last Sunday’s match against the mackems.
My biggest credits and appreciation was given to our manager Chris Hughton for his hard work to create, develop and motivated the Newcastle team into what we saw today. He’s really deserve more attention from the Toon management, and give him a better contract…immediately!
Until next time, and thanks for your visit to this site. Howay the Lads!!!
