]]>Their goal was the end result of some sloppy defending by Williamson and Colo, but otherwise they offered little in the way of a threat.
We upped our game in the 2nd half, but despite a lot of good possession just couldn’t find the target. A Williamson header hit the angle and went out and, Shola blazed high and wide when wide open on the edge of the PA and with plenty of time.
It was looking as though Blackburn would hold out when HBA took possession around 35yds out. His mazy run and thunderous strike was truly Maradona-esque. Fabulous goal. His overall performance was a bit in and out, and he looked more comfortable after going out wide when Obertan was mercifully taken off. He seemed to benefit from that bit extra time he got in the wide position.
Jonas had a good 2nd half, as his developing partnership with Santon caused Blackburn all kinds of problems, and the winning goal was well created by Shola and beautifully taken by the Spiderman.
Abeid did ok on his debut and certainly didn’t look overawed. He could prove to be another good ‘un.
Without playing well, Shola improved things up front simply by getting in and around the box. Best needs to recognise that he is now expected to be the main man, and he needs to concentrate on getting on the end of things rather than getting involved in the build-up. We dominated posssession yesterday without offering a consistent threat, and this has to be a real concern over the next few weeks.
Not a classic but at least we’re in the hat.

]]>This is the game that most of the Toon Army have something to fear of about the moral of team and the strength of our defense in particular. Many times I’ve read that our current position in the Premierships table was nothing but a luck, as they said, we haven’t meet the real test before today.
So, now I’m proudly say that we have a good team, with a very good determination and high spirited lads are willing to fight until the end and never surrender. We are capable of chasing the game in any condition, like today we are twice behind but we can responded very well to end the game 2-2 against this year “European” club opponent.
Before the match, I was feared of their pacey wingers and the skill of Van Der Vaart and Modric. I didn’t take credits to their striker, Adebayor is not the same person as he was couple of years ago when still with Arsenal.
Instead of the first goal was coming from his movement, I see it as our own fault who was failed to stop the ball that coming from the midfield. Steven Taylor also failed to anticipate the lose ball and gave enough space for Adebayor to run into our six yard box, and Taylor last try was bringing down Adebayor inside the penalty box.
In the second half we are starting to look for an equaliser, and it doesn’t have to wait longer than 3 minutes. In a nice United attack, the ball was coming to Gutierrez who runs for it and releasing a delightful cross infront of Brad Friedel goal who was passed through Spurs defenders into Ba’s foot who are free in the area to slot the ball and Friedel into the net.
Since that goal we are looking for more but through a counter attack we are once again failed to stop the ball from the midfield, and this time Jermaine Defoe who came in as substitute for Van Der Vaart, can take the adavance to fire in Spurs second.
Alan Pardew then make two substitutions to taking off Demba Ba and Best who surprisingly very quiet today and bringing on Hatem Ben Arfa and … Shola Ameobi. I’m trying to be honest here, to see Ameobi in I was thought that we will finally got beaten.
But, I was totally wrong, and I apologize to Ameobi who is coming in to rescue the point for United, with his superb goal in the 86 minutes. Just 9 minutes before that goal, Pardew also bringing in another player that I was desperately want to see him playing, Davide Santon to replace Danny Simpson.
Spurs have one other chance to get back into the lead but Krul succeeded to block another strike from Defoe. We also have a great opportunity to win this game through our skipper Coloccini who shot the ball wide in the dying minutes.
In general, I was pleased with this result and to see that we are still in good track. Bring in Wigan next week, until then thanks for coming to this site and Howay the Lads!

]]>I should say the City fans will be very lucky to have the help from referee Mr. Atkinson for his two questionable decision that one gives the City a penalty reward for what in my opinion was not a fault by Williamson.
The other one is a more clearly a penalty for Newcastle when Lescott took down Shola Ameobi with a rather rash challenge inside the City box, but Atkinson waves his hands for a no-penalty decision, but we did fair play and not making much complaints about his poor decision.
One side-note that I would like to express here is that we are defending too much in second-half and not making more penetration to the home side since the start of second period.
I would love us to keep going into them just like what we did after Jonas marvelous strike give us the equalising goal to cancel out Tevez’s penalty.
Losing out Ben Arfa in just only four minutes into play was probably cost us this game, although we maybe not come home with a win, but with his presence in the field, I believe the City players will need to think again to force their players out to attack us.
Another good point from the Lads performance is the way Tim Krull has developing his skill. He has a quite excellent performance today and denied at least two City chances.
With the departure of Coloccini who suffered a groin injury, Sol Campbell came as substitute and for a player at his age, he did effectively to keep Adebayor out of his position and has no chance to do dangerous play infront of our goal.
Keep those spirits alive in every game and we will be fairly in save zone in January where I hope Mike Ashley will splash more cash to buy new players to strenghten our thin squad.
Until next time and thanks for visiting this blog, any comments are welcome. Howay the Lads!!!

]]>“But when you have been here like I have, you know the problems at this football club have never been the crowd, never been the passion of the people and the support of the club in the city. That has always been there through thick and thin, thin and thinner. It does not surprise me – although it always knocks you back – because this is Newcastle. The fans are top-rate and my job is to get a team that eventually matches them. It is a tough ask and we still have some way to go.”
What a man he was! That was when the likes of Danny boy and Fabz watch 12,000 Toon Army come to St. James’s Park on Wednesday to watch them on training under the pouring rain.
Keegan also speak (once again) that his relationships with everyone else at the club directors are never been closer than they are now. He said that everyone tried so hard to bring in new players this season and if the reality check is that there’s only a few that finally come in, that’s something beyond their power.
“Sends out a message – if we’re going to fetch new players in, let them be quality” Keegan added.
But to speak the truth, the selling of Abdoulaye Faye to Stoke City last night has raised my eyebrows. Faye penning a three-year deal with the Potters. The 30-year-old signed from Bolton Wanderers in the last minutes of last year’s August transfer deadline, and he also did leave the Toon exactly like the way he came.
Well, I only can say goodluck to him and thanks for all that he has done for Newcastle. In my opinion, he was one of the very rare Toon players that have been good last season.
Meanwhile, Jonas Gutierrez says he will do all he can to help Coloccini find his feet on Tyneside, “I am very happy that we have another Argentinean at Newcastle and I will do all I can to help him” He said as quoted from the official site.
Gutierrez also delighted that his Argentina team-mate finally signed with Newcastle United and will be looking forward to play together after for the last three seasons both have to fight each other in different team in Spanish La Liga.
“I know from playing against Fabricio in La Liga and as a team-mate for Argentina what a good player he is – I’m just happy we’re on the same side all of the time now!,” Guti told nufc.co.uk in an exclusive interview.

]]>Keegan will be pleased to sign central-defender Coloccini for £8.25m this weekend, and the United official announcement is expected on Monday.
Coloccini will join his Argentine national team-mate Jonas Gutierrez who already signed for Toon last month. Both would be usefull addition to our thin squad, especially in defence. We have suffered 65 goals last season, one of the worst season in United Premiership years.
With Coloccini presence, KK is hoping to have find the perfect player to break our worst defensive record. And other news coming today that Keegan is also chasing Blackburn’s £5m-rated left back Stephen Warnock.
