]]>John Carver back to St James’ Park as Alan Pardew’s right man on an initial short-term deal, and if things go well, he can get a longer term appointment in the summer. I believe John will do as good as he has done before alongside the great Sir Bobby Robson.
Carver, who recently work as Gary Speed’s deputy at Sheffield United said he was “proud and honoured” to have been re-hired.
“I understand how much the club and the results mean to these wonderful fans and I am delighted to have the opportunity to assist Alan in delivering them the success they deserve.” John said as quoted from the Telegraph.
“I am looking forward to working with Alan Pardew and building on the recent strides that the club has taken to get back to where we belong, at the top of English football.”
Born in January 16th, 1965 in Newcastle upon Tyne. John played for Newcastle United in 1983–1985, but never made senior appearance. He left the Toon to play for Cardiff City from 1985–1986 with 13 appearances.
Following Robson’s sacking in September 2004, he was appointed as United caretaker and guided the Magpies to a 3-0 win against Blackburn Rovers.
In July 2005 he joins Leeds United as the club first team coach, replacing the departed Adrian Boothroyd, and became a caretaker manager for the second time in his career when Leeds United fired Kevin Blackwell.
Carver left Leeds United 23 October 2006 and rejoined Kevin Blackwell as his assistant manager in Luton Town. He later travelling to the US Major League Soccer as Toronto FC head coach from 2008–2009 before return to England as assistant head coach at Plymouth Argyle until 2010 where he appointed first team coach at Sheffield United.
Carver once again apointed as caretaker manager at Sheffield United after Gary Speed become coach of the Wales national football team. When Micky Adams was appointed as Sheffield manager on 30 December 2010, Carver left the club.

]]>The football charity game to honour the true legend has its own site sbrf-appeal.co.uk to promote the Sir Bobby Robson foundation by arranging an ANNUAL charity football match between Newcastle United and Ipswich Town.
The overall aim being to achieve agreement with both clubs to donate all monies raised from these matches to the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.
How you can help? Send this message out to every football fan possible and get them to unite with us, sign the petition, mail your friends, talk about it in the pub, write a blog post about this charity event or on every football forum you can think of.
Together we can help and together we can honour this great man in a way befitting how he has entertained us for decades and his latest crusade to raise as much money as possible for a cause very close to home, cancer research.

Click on the image on the left to go to the foundation site and make donation there, no matter how much you can donate, it’s not the amount that is important but your support for Sir Bobby’s effort is highly appreciated.
I will pray for you Sir Bobby Robson, you’re strong lad, you have fight the cancer four times and I bet that your spirit will once again wins you for the fifth time against it.
You will still be around when Newcastle United is win something, you will be there at St. James’s Park and see United skipper lift-up the silverwares.
Below is an article about Sir Bobby and the foundation that I quote from the Times online website:
On Easter Monday, there was a knock at Sir Bobby Robson’s door. A stranger was standing outside his Co Durham house clutching a brown envelope. “My first thought: football agent,” he said, with a familiar chuckle yesterday, and the package in question did, indeed, contain money. In used notes and loose change was £274.71; the gesture, however, was priceless.
The woman in front of him began telling Robson her story. Her husband had died recently and his final request was that mourners should not send flowers to mark his passing. Instead, he had heard that Robson was establishing a charity and asked for a collection to be made at his funeral. Here she was, clutching the proceeds. It is the kind of warmth Robson generates.
When Dr Ruth Plummer, Robson’s oncologist, asked him if he knew of businessmen or contacts who could help to raise money for a new facility at the Freeman Hospital, in Newcastle, he went several steps further. The result is the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation, which, initially at least, aims to raise £500,000 for a cancer trials research centre.
“There’s a saying from my part of the world, which I don’t really like, but maybe it’s appropriate – shy bairns get nothing,” he said. “My other skirmishes have been football-related and this is medical-related and the process of raising quite a bit of money isn’t easy, because it’s not easy asking people for money, is it? The problem is, if I don’t ask, I don’t get, so I’ve got to take the bull by the horns.”

]]>Both are the most successful manager that Newcastle United had in Premierships years, and also the persons that have the highest respects from Toon supporters, both in and out the field.
“I have had a wonderful career and a wonderful life,” said Sir Bobby Robson, “I really couldn’t ask for much more. When I look back I’m very proud of what I have achieved.”
Being judged to have cancer for fifth times since 1992, Robson’s health is fragile but when asking about his thoughts on football, particularly about his beloved team Newcastle, Sir Bobby can talk for hours.
“I never thought I’d get the chance to manage my club and I loved every single day I was in that job,” he said. “It meant the world to me and I believe I did as good a job as I could.”
“I don’t have any regrets about my time there. I took the club over when they were bottom of the league and in the five years I was manager we finished in the top five three years running.” Sir Bobby added more, “Three years after I arrived we were playing in the Champions League. Nobody has got near that since I left.”
Sir Bobby also believe King Kev was the right man for Newcastle job at the moment, and the King will not let the Toon Army down.
“That is what Kevin will do. I don’t think we will go down, I can’t see us being relegated this season, so he’s just got to consolidate.”
“Look at what he’s got and then go out in the summer and get the best players he can. It’s not going to be easy because all the clubs are going for the same players, but Newcastle have got a chance.”
Kevin Keegan will needs time. Sir Bobby doesn’t see it going to happen straight away. He gives his time at Gallowgate as a good example as he tooks two seasons to get United back into Europe. Keegan will built the squad up and when the right players are available, King Kev will brought them in to replace the current squad.
“Newcastle are a bigger club than Everton, they are a bigger club than Aston Villa and even Tottenham. They are big clubs, of course they are, but Newcastle are bigger.” Said Sir Bobby, “I might be biased of course, but I firmly believe that if one team is going to shake things up it is Newcastle United.”
