Newcastle United’s future goalkeepers Tim Krul and Fraser Forster are both predicted to have the same battle as the current number one Shay Given and his deputy Steve Harper.

Newcastle United reserve-team boss Lee Clark said that the current reserve goallie Fraser has been fantastic and progressed a lot in the last 18 months.

While Tim Krul is getting rave reviews at Falkirk on his loan spell, Forster recently is developing very well and will be looking to move up another level and could follow the Dutch young goalkeeper on another loan spell somewhere in January.

“He’s got two great examples in Shay and Harper to look up to as well as in Terry Gennoe and Adam Sadler, our goalkeeping coaches.” Said Clark.

Clark said that the future of Newcastle United is already seen today in both Fraser and Krul. The two gigantic goalie is the most greatest assets for United’ future as well as Andy Carroll.

Furthermore, Clark said that at the moment in first team level we have two top keepers battling it out to be the Toon number 1 goalie.

The same thing happened in the reserve squad. We have two great keepers now and the future looks good as well.

Tim will be back in January and we might switch things round a bit and Fraser may go out on loan while Tim will play for the reserves.

“Going on loan would help Fraser to improve all parts of his game and it is important for us to have the competition in the side for keepers in the early stage.”
