Toon, Toon, Black and White Army! We need to repeat that over and over again on Wednesday. We need to decide There’s Only One…Allardyce and we are now Big Sam Black and White Army. No nonsense of what the media said, they are the ‘Real Bollocks’ it’s not the fans, nor the players or managers that crushed Newcastle United, but the newspapers are.
We were in the glorious days under Kevin Keegan, before the cloudy days of Dalglish, followed by Ruud ‘no-sexy football’ Gullit, back to the light with Sir Bobby Robson, then getting lost again in the Fog of the Tyne lead by Souness before found the way back with Glenn Roeder’s helping hands. Count them and think about wor wonder years.
You see there are two periods in between where we were down before see the light at the end of the dark tunnel, and this time Sam Allardyce is the one.
Now I want you to look at this silly comparison from the Guardian:
Sam Allardyce and Alan Shearer
Sam Allardyce | Alan Shearer
Worn Newcastle no. 9 Shirt? | – | Worn Newcastle no. 9 Shirt? | • |
United Goals | – | United Goals | 206 |
Played for Sunderland | • | Played for Sunderland | – |
Managerial Trophies | – | Managerial Trophies | – |
Father in local metal sheets business | – | Father in local metal sheets business | • |
Dubbed Geordie Messiah | – | Dubbed Geordie Messiah | • |
There’s no guarantee play or not play for macKems can give you success, they just selling the Geordies passion in cheap way. To have father working in a local sheet metal business, that’s even more ridiculous. Are they thinking about the same to compare Jose Mourinho with Alan Shearer?
They also write about succeeding Glenn Roeder at St James’ Park then oversaw Newcastle’s best start to a season for a decade, but then results have gone with an awry amid rumours that certain players are underwhelmed by his tactics and training methods.
Maybe right, maybe not. If that certain players they are talking about is Stephen Carr or any other overpaid players then they are absolutely right. Let’s see it more clearly.
We also have players this season who found their best ever under Sam Allardyce. Charles N’Zogbia and James Milner, both have meet the highest standards. I’m the one that found it as a surprise to see Zog playing as wide left wing-back, but he done it good.
Now what about Mike Ashley and Chris Mort? The club officials declined to comment on fresh ‘media’ reports that Sam Allardyce’s future as manager is in jeopardy. It is just the media believed that Allardyce may have only Wednesday night’s game against Arsenal at St James’ Park.
Both Ashley and Mort have mention it before about building a solid team takes time. The fans have been persuaded by the media illustrations and speculations. Yes, it’s true that Big Sam has some bad judgements in some Newcastle games, but we need to see more from him until the end of this month.
One thing to remember, we were rare to be seen playing with a complete first team squad this season and many seasons before. We can judge Big Sam as failed if he can not deliver good results when Newcastle is playing with his full team squad.
