Colin Calderwood has gone to seek his new adventure as the number one man with Hibernian’s side. Now, without assistant on his side, Chris Hughton will guide the Toon on this Saturday trip to the Eastland to face West Ham United.
For me it is very interesting to see who will be Hughton’s right-hand, and some news have been reporting that he already have some names on his pocket as Calderwood’s replacement.
As the most loyalest football supporters the world ever had, I want you to tell me who will be the perfect man for this job and why you think it was he was right one.
I will make my suggestion first. In my opinion, the man who is perfect for this job is Peter Beardsley. Pedro has done a very good job with our reverse team who is currently sit on top of Premier League Section A, after a 4-1 win over Bolton Wanderers second string.
From the Journal report, Hughton already has a meeting with Newcastle United managing director Derek Llambias yesterday which I think one of the agenda was to discuss about the replacement, and hopefully another possible new signings in January.
Hughton said, as quoted from the Journal: “It will 100% be my decision because it has to be. He is going to be my assistant so it is important I know I can work with that person.”
With more than a decade of experience as an assistant manager at Tottenham Hotspur and also with the Toon, Hughton knows better what the job entails, someone he can trust, good coaching ability and can deal with the players.
Also from the Journal, former United number two Steve Clarke, Steve Stone, Clive Allen (who played with Hughton at Tottenham) and … former United legend Peter Beardsley, are some possible candidates. Now, what about you? Post your comment with your own favorite as Hughton assistant.
Until next time and thanks for coming to this site. Howay the Lads!!!
